Well one more week to go for summer school. This past week I had a blast. The summer teacher is great she is really there for the kids and really look forward to improve their knowledge. It is a big change for me and very pleasant from the regular teacher who's full of fears and communicate them to the kids.
I sing all day long and of course in french and then....the miracle happened. Two of the kids sing the songs very clearly I was trilled to hear them It was priceless. And the miracle is the girl never said a sound before and she's 20 years old. I had tears in my eyes. Despite the bites, the scratches, the slaps this is what makes it worthily to be there for them.
Nick is going for his training next week as a bus driver. When all the tests will be done he will start August 15Th with his new job. He will be hired by Omaha Public Schools We will have the same days off and summer together. It will be a change for us as we only have Sundays together unless somebody doesn't show up for work.

Une derniere semaine de camp d'ete et vive les vacances. Cette semaine j'ai eu de beaux moments. Le professeur actuel est parfaite, elle n'est pas la pour l'argent c'est sur. Elle a l'interet des enfants en conscience et cherche a ameliorer leur qualite de vie versus la reguliere qui est remplie de peurs et par consequence les communique aux enfants.
Je chante durant la journee et finalement le miracle est survenu...Deux des enfants ont commence a chanter en francais en articulant clairement les mots. Cela n'a pas de prix.
La fille n'a jamais prononce un mot et a 20 ans. J'en avais les larmes aux yeux. Malgre les morsures, les coups, les egratignures cela est la recompense pour etre parmi eux.
Nick a des tests a passer la semaine prochaine pour etre chauffeur d'autobus pour la commission scolaire. Apres les tests il va etre engage et commencera le 15 Aout. Nous allons avoir les meme conges et les meme vacances. Cela va etre un grand changement pour nous car on ne se voyait que les Dimanches a moins qu'un employe ne se presentait pas at alors adieu Dimanche.

All Right! I am so glad that you will have this time off together. Now you can travel, something that you both love so much.
ReplyDeleteYou obviously have a gift for connecting with children with special needs. My guys were the lucky benefactors of that when you lived closer, but I'm so happy for the kids who are lucky enough to have you in their lives now.
ReplyDeleteWe were at the beach this weekend and I thought of you playing with A&T in the water at Lake Michigan 2 summers ago. Lucky kids...lucky Nick to be married to a woman with such a big heart.
